Winning At Blackjack

Learning how to play blackjack is one of the easiest things you will learn in casino gaming. Learning how to win at blackjack may or may not be a little more of a challenge, but can be a rewarding one if you can use it to your advantage. First you have to know how to play and then you can get into strategies. Here is an outline of the three basic strategies you can use while playing blackjack.

Luck -The easiest way to play blackjack is just to bet on your cards regardless of what else is on the table. While luck hardly seems like a strategy, it can actually be quite difficult to sit there and focus only on your cards. You only need to rely on proper money management and hope that lady luck is kind to you. Decide on whether you will hit or stand without regard to what card the dealer is showing. Managing your money by limiting how much you spend will allow you to play for a longer period of time and provide more betting opportunities.

Basic Strategy - This is a commonly used method. It involves paying attention to what the dealer has and making a decision whether to stand or hit based on what they are showing. Once you have chosen a betting amount, you should stick to it and if you have chosen to stand, you should stay the course. Discipline is important here. Randomly changing your mind will not let you develop your strategy. Use a money management system that goes well with the basic strategy, there are many out there. Of course, define your profit and loss limits so you know exactly when to call it quits.

Card Counting - This is quite a hard thing to do and you won't be getting on any casinos guest list by getting caught doing it. Most casinos know exactly what card counting looks like, and you'll need to be pretty sneaky to pass unnoticed. If you still insist on card counting, you'll learn best from experts. There are books out there that can give you a course in counting, provided you've got the memory and multi-tasking abilities. Remember that at best, counting probably only offers you a 1% advantage, and if you bet huge on that 1%, you're likely to be noticed.

At some point, no matter which strategy you go with, you'll have to rely on the luck of the draw. But this doesn't mean you are at its complete mercy. These three simple strategies will help you improve your odds of winning and decrease the odds of you having to sell your wife's jewelry.
